In a crucial safety development, the US Consumer Product Safety Commission has issued separate recalls for two additional brands of infant beds, citing violations of federal safety standards and the potential for a “suffocation hazard” to infants. The recalled products, namely Vibe Bear’s portable playyard mattresses and Moonsea pack and play mattresses, were both sold on Amazon throughout this year. This follows the recent recall of DODO Baby House’s pack and play mattresses, which were also exclusively available on Amazon.

While no injuries have been reported from the use of these recalled mattresses, the Consumer Product Safety Commission emphasizes that they are not deemed safe for use. The mattresses fail to meet the “thickness test” criteria for mattresses used in areas where infants sleep, and they lack essential warnings and labels mandated by safety standards.

It is imperative for parents and caregivers to be aware of these recalls, check their infant beds for compliance, and refrain from using the recalled products. The proactive approach to safety is crucial, as staying informed and taking necessary precautions ensures the well-being of infants and aligns with established safety standards.

What pack and play mattresses are being recalled?

Three types of mattresses for infants are being recalled. All were sold online at Amazon this year, but they’re different products with different designs and shapes.

Amazon and the companies recalling the products should be contacting consumers directly, the CPSC said, but you’ll need to contact the manufacturer to get a refund.
