When Apple introduced the slightly upgraded AirPods Pro 2 featuring the MagSafe Charging Case (USB‑C) earlier this year, the USB-C charging case was exclusively bundled with the new AirPods Pro 2, not available as a separate accessory. However, Apple has recently lifted this restriction, making the USB-C charging case for the AirPods Pro 2 available for individual purchase. Priced at $99, users now have the flexibility to upgrade their existing AirPods Pro 2 setup or replace a lost Lightning-equipped case with the modern convenience of USB-C charging.

This option may particularly appeal to individuals who’ve embraced the new iPhone 15 models with USB-C charging. Streamlining cable management, users can now conveniently charge both their iPhone 15 and AirPods Pro 2 with a single cable. Alternatively, if you find yourself in need of a replacement case and prefer the efficiency of USB-C charging, this standalone accessory offers a seamless transition.

Noteworthy is the IP54 rating of the new USB-C charging case, ensuring dust resistance and splashproof durability. In contrast, the Lightning version lacks such water- or dust-resistant features.

While the upgraded AirPods Pro 2 charging case is available for purchase, it’s important to note that shipping dates have been extended to Dec. 26-Dec. 29th. While it might not arrive in time for Christmas, securing it before New Year’s Day ensures you start the upcoming year with enhanced charging convenience.
