In a much-anticipated announcement, Samsung has revealed that its upcoming mobile devices, speculated to be the Galaxy S24 series, will make their grand entrance on January 17. Positioned as one of the inaugural smartphone launches of 2024, these devices are poised to redefine the smartphone landscape with a blend of innovative AI features and the customary camera and processor upgrades that Samsung is renowned for.

Traditionally, Samsung has leveraged camera enhancements to distinguish its new phones, but this year, the spotlight is on AI. The Galaxy S24 series is expected to debut Galaxy AI, described by the company as a “comprehensive mobile AI experience.” This suggests a significant departure from the norm, signaling a deeper integration of artificial intelligence into the core functionalities of these devices. Additionally, rumors and leaks hint at a new titanium build and a design featuring flatter edges, particularly for the top-of-the-line Ultra model.

The unveiling event is scheduled to take place at the SAP Center in San Jose, California, at 10 a.m. PT, with the proceedings livestreamed across Samsung’s channels. To sweeten the deal for eager customers, Samsung is offering a promotion allowing early reservations for new Galaxy devices. Those who reserve a device through Samsung’s website or app until January 16 will receive a $50 credit, adding an extra incentive for enthusiasts to secure their spot in line.

This announcement comes at a time when tech companies are increasingly incorporating generative AI into mobile devices. Google’s Pixel 8 series and Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor for smartphones, expected to power the Galaxy S24 series, exemplify this trend. As Samsung takes the stage in January, the Galaxy S24 series appears poised to be a trailblazer, signaling a clear shift towards an AI-centric future for smartphones.
