In a bold move at CES 2024, MainGear is spearheading the “War on Cables” trend, doubling down on the quest for immaculate desktop builds with its innovative “MG-RC” (rear connection) system. In collaboration with MSI and Phanteks, MainGear introduces the system in two groundbreaking desktop designs – the Maingear Zero Drop and the Maingear NV9 Zero concept. These desktops showcase MSI’s Project Zero motherboards, featuring reverse-mount power and data connections strategically positioned on the motherboard. Coupled with purposeful cutouts on the motherboard mount, this design allows users to access almost every cable from the rear or underside of the case.
The Zero Drop, adorned with an all-white MSI MAG Pano M1000 PZ case, stands as a testament to MainGear’s commitment to a clean aesthetic. The Project Zero motherboard, particularly the B760M model, seamlessly conceals cables, leaving only essential connections like CPU cooler tubes and a single power rail visible. Scheduled for limited release on January 24th, the Zero Drop promises a clutter-free computing experience like never before.
Meanwhile, the NV9 Zero, housed in the popular Phanteks NV9 case, takes cable management to new heights. With its sleek all-black design, this desktop provides an even cleaner look, accentuated by an LCD display mounted discreetly at the rear. Despite being dubbed a “Concept,” the NV9 Zero will hit the market in the first quarter of 2024, offering gamers a customized build that epitomizes MainGear’s commitment to innovation and aesthetics.
