The latest Windows 11 Insider Preview Build 22635.3212 may not introduce any groundbreaking features, but it’s addressing a particularly irksome issue that’s been plaguing some users. According to Betanews, Microsoft has honed in on a persistent problem affecting Windows 11 users—a sluggish taskbar that’s been causing frustration.

For some users, Windows 11 has been taking an excruciatingly long time to render the taskbar usable after booting up. Without quick access to essential applications and settings typically housed in the taskbar, productivity takes a hit. Thankfully, the new KB5034845 update aims to remedy this sluggishness, as noted in the support document for Windows 11 Insider Preview Build 22635.3212 (Beta Channel).

Microsoft specifically states: “Fixed an issue which was causing the taskbar to sometimes be very slow to appear sometimes after booting up and logging in for the first time.” This fix comes alongside another taskbar-related improvement, addressing an issue where the search function would open briefly before abruptly closing.

Moreover, this enhanced taskbar isn’t exclusive to the beta channel; it’s also available in the development and canary channels. However, users can expect a wait of a few more weeks before these improvements trickle down to the stable versions of Windows 11. The upcoming Microsoft patch day on March 12 could mark the arrival of the enhanced taskbar in the final release.
