Xbox Live Sign-In Issues Plague Gamers Microsoft’s Xbox Live service experienced a major disruption on Tuesday, preventing users from signing in and playing games on both consoles and PCs. The issue was first acknowledged by Microsoft’s Xbox Live service page at 11:07 AM PT and was still unresolved by 2:38 PM PT.

According to the service page, the error affected the “account and profile” section, causing users to face difficulties signing in to their Xbox profiles, experiencing disconnections, or encountering other related issues. This meant that features requiring sign-in, including most games, apps, and social activities, were unavailable.

An error message also appeared on the Xbox app for PC users, acknowledging the service issue. Even attempts to download pending updates to the app did not resolve the problem.

The impact varied across different games. For instance, Solitaire was still playable, though users couldn’t save progress to the cloud. On the other hand, Brotato was completely unplayable without an Xbox sign-in, a scenario likely affecting both Xbox console users and PC players who rely on Xbox Live for game downloads and access to “free” games.

Microsoft has noted that a resolution is pending, and gamers are eagerly waiting for the issue to be fixed.
