With QuakeCon kicking off yesterday in Dallas, id Software has unveiled enhanced versions of the iconic shooters Doom and Doom II. These updated editions, now available on major digital platforms like Steam, GOG, Epic Games Store, and the Microsoft Store for just $10, offer a range of new features and improvements. If you already own either game, you can upgrade to these new versions at no additional cost.

The remastered Doom and Doom II come with stunning 4K graphics and performance upgrades, supporting up to 120 FPS. They also introduce cross-play multiplayer, allowing gamers across different platforms to compete against each other. Additional content includes new deathmatch maps, a co-op mode for up to 16 players, and expanded story elements, including a special episode titled “Sigil” created by John Romero. With mod support, players can also craft their own content.

The revamped versions are available for PC, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and Nintendo Switch, and represent a significant update more than 30 years after the original Doom’s debut.
