I’m a passionate advocate for audiobooks and can hardly go a few days without diving into a new one. Whether it’s during a long road trip or just day-to-day commuting, I often finish two or three audiobooks in no time. However, the cost of audiobooks can be steep, with prices remaining high even as physical book prices decline.

If you’re looking to build up your audiobook collection without breaking the bank, there’s a great promotional offer from Audible that you should take advantage of right now.

For those who have never subscribed to Audible, you can get three months of service along with three audiobook credits for just under $3 total. Considering that a single bestselling audiobook typically costs between $20 and $30, this is an exceptional deal.

After the promotional period ends, Audible will continue charging $15 per month. But here’s the trick: if you cancel your subscription right after receiving your third credit, you’ll still retain access to the Audible app and all the audiobooks you’ve downloaded. That means you can listen to your audiobooks indefinitely, even without an active subscription.

To further maximize your audiobook savings, be on the lookout for sales. Normally, an Audible credit costs around $15, but the platform frequently offers sales where you can purchase full-length audiobooks for as little as $3 to $10. These sales are a great way to stock up on titles while your subscription is active, and then you can cancel until you’ve worked through your collection.

That said, I do have a minor gripe with Audible’s Android app—the primary way I access my library on my phone. It’s not perfect, but it still provides convenient access to my extensive collection, which has grown to nearly 300 titles.
