Studying is expensive so saving every penny is worthwhile and one of the ways you can do that is with a Google student discount.
This means if you’re a student or graduate you can save hundreds on various Pixel and Nest devices including phones, smartwatches, earbuds and smart home devices.
Here’s how to sign up to get your student discount code, perfect for back to school season.
Google student discount UK
First, head to this page on the Google store where you’ll need to sign up for a Student Beans account if you don’t have one already.
Your account can be verified in just two minutes and you can then get your discount code.
Oddly, Google’s overall student discount page mentions you’ll get at least 10% off – “Values differ based on promotions, but will always be at least 10%.”
However, the current deal at the time of writing is 5% and is available on selected devices, including the Pixel 9 range and Pixel Watch 3, rather than the entire store.
The other offers mentioned are trade-in credit for the Pixel 9 Pro and 9 Pro XL which isn’t any better than what is available to anyone else.
Finally, it mentions up to £665 trade-in credit on the Pixel Fold even though that device is no longer on sale from Google.
Hopefully, these deals and discounts will be updated in the near future so check back.
Google student discount US
If you’re in the USA, then you can get a student discount via the ID.me scheme. It’s also valid for veterans, first responders, nurses, medical providers, teachers, hospital employees, and government employees.
Simply log on and verify yourself to get 10% off.
At the time of writing, it’s not compatible with Nest Mini, Chromecast with Google TV (HD or 4K), Nest Aware, Professional Installation, Preferred Care, Financing, Fitbit Premium or any other subscriptions.
