Google’s Pixel 9 Introduces Seamless Group Photos with Add Me Feature
Say goodbye to the hassle of choosing who should be excluded from group photos with Google’s latest flagship devices: the Pixel 9, Pixel 9 Pro, and Pixel 9 Pro Fold. These new models feature an innovative tool called Add Me, designed to effortlessly include everyone in a single shot. Using advanced augmented reality and AI, Add Me combines two separate images to create a seamless group photo.
The process is straightforward: take a photo with everyone except one person, then switch places and capture the second image with that person in the frame. The AI will then merge these images to produce a cohesive photo where it appears as though everyone was present from the start. While asking a passerby to take your picture is always an option, Add Me provides a practical alternative if you prefer to avoid that or want to experiment with creative setups, like capturing someone twice in the same frame.
How to Use the Add Me Feature on Pixel 9 Phones:
- Ensure your Pixel 9 is updated by checking for software updates under Settings > System > Software updates. Also, make sure your Pixel Camera app is current via the Play Store.
- Open the camera app and select Add Me from the photo options located below the shutter button.
- Position everyone except the initial photographer in the frame, leaving space for them to join later. Take the first photo.
- Hand the phone to another person, have everyone else exit the frame, and use the viewfinder to position the photographer. Take the second photo.
- The Add Me feature will merge the images, which you can then view in your Photos app.
