At IFA in Berlin today, Asus showcased the latest models in their Vivobook and Zenbook series, now powered by the cutting-edge Lunar Lake architecture CPUs. These new processors boast up to 47 NPU TOPS (tera operations per second), which significantly enhance the performance of AI-driven features. Among the highlights of these new laptops is the Zenbook’s innovative Ceraluminum lid—a blend of aluminum and ceramic that offers both aesthetic appeal and increased durability compared to traditional plastics and metals.
The Asus Zenbook S 14 immediately caught my eye, especially in its Scandinavian White color, which is both striking and elegant. Beyond its visual appeal, this laptop packs powerful specs with options for either the Intel Core Ultra 7 256V or the more advanced 258V processors, both leveraging Lunar Lake technology to deliver up to 47 TOPS. The Zenbook S 14 features a 14-inch OLED display with a 2880×1800 resolution, 120Hz refresh rate, and excellent color accuracy, thanks to its 100 percent DCI-P3 coverage and 500 nits HDR peak brightness. The laptop is impressively slim at 0.48 inches thick and weighs just 2.7 pounds, with its Ceraluminum construction adding to its sleek yet durable profile. It also includes a four-speaker sound system, AI-driven noise cancellation for clearer video calls, and a geometric grille for efficient cooling. Priced starting at $1,399.99, the Zenbook S 14 will be available this September.
On the other hand, the Asus Vivobook S 14 offers a more budget-friendly option while still delivering solid performance. At 0.54 inches thick and weighing 2.86 pounds, it maintains a slim and portable design. Starting at $999.99, this model features the Intel Core Ultra 7 processor, Intel Arc Graphics, 16GB of RAM, and 512GB of SSD storage. The 14-inch OLED display has a 1920×1200 resolution and a 60Hz refresh rate, providing a decent viewing experience for everyday tasks. While it lacks the higher specs of the Zenbook S 14, it remains a capable and affordable choice. The Vivobook S 14 will also launch this September, with a higher RAM and storage configuration available in October.
