For the past couple of years, Cooler Master has been showcasing the Shark X PC—a machine that resembles a shark—at various tech expos and gaming events. Now, the wait is over for those eager to own this over-the-top mini-ITX beast, as it is officially available for pre-order with an eye-watering price of $6,999.99.
While the hefty price tag might make your wallet flinch, it’s worth noting that this shark-themed PC doesn’t even come with the laser many may have fantasized about.
So, what does nearly seven grand get you? The answer might be less than you expect. The Shark X features an Intel Core i7-14700F processor, an Nvidia GeForce RTX 4070 Ti graphics card, 64GB of DDR5 RAM, and a 2TB Gen4 SSD—impressive specs for gaming, but nothing beyond what you could assemble yourself for around $1,500.
But let’s be honest—you’re not paying for the specs alone. The real draw here is the shark-inspired enclosure, designed by Thai artist and PC modder Inony. The frame positions the “shark” in a dynamic leaping stance, standing nearly three feet tall. The MasterLiquid 120 Atmos AIO cooler adds to the theme, with cables arranged to resemble the shark’s teeth.
If you’re drawn to the idea of this show-stopping piece of hardware gracing your desk, rest assured it’s upgrade-friendly. Cooler Master says the Shark X supports standard mini-ITX motherboards and can accommodate graphics cards up to 304mm long and 137mm high, though modifying it might not be straightforward.
Cooler Master plans to ship the Shark X later this year, but there’s no exact release date yet, nor any information on how many units will be produced. If you’re ready to splurge, securing a pre-order might be wise.
