While Microsoft’s Xbox controllers, including the Elite models, have long been the go-to choice for PC gamers, there’s a growing contingent who prefer the PlayStation experience. If you’re among them, there’s exciting news: the latest update to the PlayStation Accessories app now offers full customization for the DualSense Edge, Sony’s high-end $200 controller for the PS5. You can download the updated app here.

Previously, this app, which was known as the “Firmware Updater for DualSense Wireless Controller,” was limited to firmware updates. This restriction still applies to the standard DualSense controller, but the new version extends comprehensive customization features to the DualSense Edge. This includes the ability to remap all buttons, adjust analog stick sensitivity and dead zones, fine-tune analog trigger sensitivity, and modify vibration and haptic feedback intensity. These options were already available when using the controller with a PlayStation 5.

For those disappointed by the lack of customization options with the standard DualSense, which is priced at $70, Steam’s controller settings offer a viable alternative. Steam allows for detailed controller input customization across supported games and includes pre-set configurations and a tailored user interface for the DualSense.

Sony is actively working to establish a stronger presence in the PC gaming arena, having ported several popular PS4 and PS5 titles to the platform, although some notable exclusives remain absent. While recent releases like the party-based shooter Concord have not met expectations, Sony’s push into PC gaming reflects a strategic effort to tap into the expansive PC market.
