To mark the 10th anniversary of its highly popular G502 gaming mouse, Logitech has unveiled a special limited edition featuring an aluminum body.

Named the G502 X Plus AL Edition, this exclusive version retains many of the features found in the G502 X Plus wireless mouse, but with an added touch of luxury: an aluminum body laser-etched with unique serial numbers ranging from 1 to 502. That means only 502 units will be produced, making it a true collector’s item.

In terms of features, the G502 X Plus AL Edition boasts a 25K DPI sensor, customizable RGB lighting, and compatibility with Logitech’s PowerPlay wireless charging system.

However, if you’re looking to buy one, there’s a catch. Logitech has announced that these mice won’t be available for purchase. Instead, they will be awarded, earned, or gifted by Logitech G and its partners to community members worldwide. Logitech has already given away 10 units via X/Twitter, and it’s likely more giveaway events and raffles will follow across social media platforms.

While this special edition is a thrilling opportunity for fans and collectors, it doesn’t fully compensate for the disappointment over Logitech’s recent “forever mouse” controversy. Nevertheless, it’s encouraging to see the company responding to feedback and offering DPI upgrades for older models.
