In the world of small form factor (SFF) PCs, enthusiasts continually push the boundaries to fit the most powerful components into the tiniest cases. While desktop manufacturers usually have their limits, one boutique builder seems to have shattered them with the MegaMini G1—a truly adorable marvel.

We’ve seen glimpses of the MegaMini G1 throughout the year, including at Barcelona’s Mobile World Congress, but now it’s officially available for pre-order. The mini PC is currently on Kickstarter with an early bird price of $1,500 and is expected to ship in November 2024.

This pint-sized powerhouse, measuring just 255mm tall and 150mm wide at the base (a total volume under six liters), is packed with impressive specs: a 13th-gen Intel Core i7 processor and an Nvidia GeForce RTX 4060 discrete graphics card. To put its size in perspective, it’s significantly smaller than the popular Fractal Design Terra, which is 10.4 liters.

Not only is the MegaMini G1 compact, but it also stands out as a stylish piece of tech. Its sleek vertical case features windows on three sides, allowing visibility of its custom heat exchanger and the intricate water-cooling system, which includes four transparent pipes leading to an L-shaped radiator at the rear. Geekom claims it operates at under 36 decibels, much quieter than standard PCs. The mini PC also boasts internal RGB lighting and a small LCD screen on top for status updates.

Port-wise, it doesn’t skimp: the front panel includes four USB-A ports and a headphone jack, while the back features two more USB-A ports, dual USB-C ports, dual HDMI ports, DisplayPort, and a full Ethernet jack. However, some trade-offs come with this mini marvel. The CPU and GPU are laptop components, essentially making this a gaming laptop in a new guise. You’ll also find laptop SO-DIMM RAM (32GB in the base model) and options for 1TB or 2TB SSDs, though the upgradeability of these components isn’t clear.

While the MegaMini G1 offers an impressive array of features and aesthetics, it may not compete with other high-performance SFF PCs or mini PCs like the Asus ROG NUC in terms of raw power. Still, if your goal is to own the smallest and most charming gaming PC, this might be your perfect match.
