In 2024, Apple has already held two big events.
First was WWDC back in June, when iOS 18 and the accompanying Apple Intelligence were officially revealed. We also saw the likes of watchOS 11 and macOS 14.
Then, in September, iPhone 16 series, Apple Watch Series 10 and two versions of AirPods.
However, it looks like Apple isn’t done yet, with another big launch event rumoured to be on the horizon.
When is the next Apple Event?
Apple hasn’t yet revealed when its next launch will take place.
However, Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, who has a strong track record for Apple news, thinks he knows. Gurman says “I expect Apple to announce the following products around the end of October”, and given there are five new devices listed, it’d be a surprise if this didn’t warrant a dedicated event.
If true, the devices would supposedly be available to buy on 1 November 2024.
When does Apple usually hold events?
Apple typically holds three or four live or live-streamed events annually to unveil its latest products. The events are generally scheduled at similar times each year:
- March/April/May: Spring event (not every year)
- June: Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC, every year)
- September: Autumn/Fall event (also known as the iPhone and Apple Watch launch event, every year)
- October/November: Late-autumn/fall event (occasionally)
Two of these are already behind us and a third has just been announced. However, it’s possible that more events will take place in 2024.
What will Apple announce at its next event?
Nothing has been confirmed just yet, but here’s what’s rumoured for the rest of 2024 and beyond.
Potential October 2024 event
Alongside Mark Gurman’s prediction of a launch “around the end of October”, he lists five products that could potentially launch:
- M4 MacBook Pro 14-inch
- M4 MacBook Pro 16-inch
- M4/M4 Pro Mac mini
- M4 iMac
It remains to be seen if all these launch at the event.
Spring 2025 events
If Gurman’s predictions turn out to be true, there’s likely to be a spring 2025 event. Here’s what he thinks will be launching “in the first half of the year”:
- M4 13-inch MacBook Air
- M4 15-inch MacBook Air
- New iPhone SE
- New 11-inch iPad Air
- New 13-inch iPad AIr
- New AirTag
Looking further ahead, WWDC in June and the iPhone 17 launch in September 2025 are both widely expected.
