The 6th-gen iPad Mini is 40% off on Amazon right now. It’s a fantastic deal on a quality, high-end tablet.

I’m a Windows and Android die-hard who’s loathe to admit it, but the iPad is a darn good tablet. And if you want a high-end tablet that’s a little smaller and more portable than the usual suspects, the iPad Mini is pretty much the only game in town.

Right now, you can get this 6th-gen iPad Mini for just $300 on Amazon. That’s a whopping $200 off the list price, an incredible deal that makes it way cheaper than the base model iPad.

To be very clear, this is a brand-new iPad, not refurbished or used. The only catch is that it’s the slightly older 6th-generation model from 2021, not the most recent one with updated internals.

But the design is otherwise identical, aside from the A15 processor (which is still a screamer for an 8.3-inch tablet) and the lower 4GB of RAM (ditto), along with a few other touches like faster Wi-Fi and USB file transfers. You can read Macworld’s review of the 6th-gen iPad Mini here.

In my opinion, this iPad Mini is more than worth it at a 40 percent discount, especially since there are basically no Android, Windows, or Chrome alternatives in this form factor. Sure, you can pick up a small Android tablet on the cheap, but it’s not going to be anywhere near as solid as Apple’s offering in terms of its core software or app support. The iPad Mini also makes a great gaming or media tablet for traveling.

Amazon is offering the $300 base 64GB Wi-Fi version in four different colors: space gray, purple, pink, and “Starlight” (kinda, sorta, gold-ish). If you want to boost the storage to 256GB, it’ll cost $500 instead (which is still a nice deal, down $150 from its original $650).
