The 2025 season of Major League Soccer (MLS) on Apple TV is bringing some exciting new changes, with a fresh production studio and a weekly Sunday night marquee matchup. These new additions promise to elevate the viewing experience for fans, while the pricing structure for MLS Season Pass remains the same, though there are exclusive offers for certain subscribers.
The MLS season will officially kick off on February 22, with some preseason matches being streamed starting on February 11. As with last year, the cost for MLS Season Pass is set at $14.99 per month or $99 for the full season. Apple TV+ subscribers, however, can get a discounted rate of $12.99 per month, or $79 for the entire season, providing a solid incentive for Apple TV+ users to dive into the MLS action.
One of the major new features for 2025 is the introduction of Sunday Night Soccer. Every week, this new program will highlight a top-tier matchup, with an enhanced production value, a dedicated studio, and pre- and post-game shows to create a more immersive experience. The first Sunday Night Soccer event will feature an exciting clash between San Diego FC, the newest MLS club, and the reigning MLS Cup champions, LA Galaxy. The game will take place on February 23 at 7:00 p.m. Eastern.
For those watching on Apple TV+, Sunday Night Soccer matches will be offered for free, featuring English-language commentary from Jake Zivin, Taylor Twellman, and Andrew Wiebe, with a Spanish broadcast hosted by Sammy Sadovnik and Diego Valeri.
Another key update is MLS Productions’ new home. The production team is moving to a 30,000-square-foot studio at WWE’s headquarters in Stamford, Connecticut, providing a fresh and modern space for coverage.
In addition to these changes, Apple is offering special deals for subscribers of Comcast’s Xfinity, DirecTV, and T-Mobile. T-Mobile customers will get free access to MLS Season Pass via a promotional offer in the T-Mobile Tuesdays section of the T-Life app, starting on February 18. Xfinity customers will enjoy an integrated experience within the Xfinity interface, plus access to the MLS 360 whip-around show for all subscribers. DirecTV users will get a free preview of MLS Season Pass from February 22 to March 1.
With MLS Season Pass now tied into various Apple services, including Apple Sports, Apple Music, Apple News, and Apple Podcasts, Apple is continuing its push to offer a comprehensive and integrated sports experience for fans. This marks the third season in a 10-year deal between Apple and MLS, making this partnership an important part of Apple’s sports streaming ambitions.
