OpenAI Introduces “Tasks” for ChatGPT: Scheduled Assistance at Your Command

OpenAI has rolled out a groundbreaking feature for ChatGPT, called Tasks, enabling the AI chatbot to perform scheduled activities tailored to users’ needs. This new capability allows users to set specific instructions for ChatGPT to execute at designated times, providing a more proactive and personalized experience.

With Tasks, users can automate a wide range of daily routines. For instance, you can schedule ChatGPT to deliver current stock prices each morning, remind you to study a language every evening, or even conduct a 15-minute personal training session tailored to your fitness goals.

Currently, the feature is being rolled out in beta form to Plus, Team, and Pro subscribers. It can be accessed via the model selector, labeled as “GPT-4o with Scheduled Activities (beta)”. OpenAI has announced plans to make this feature available to all users in the future, enhancing the utility of ChatGPT across various use cases.

This addition marks a significant evolution for ChatGPT, transforming it from a responsive chatbot into a proactive assistant, capable of managing tasks and simplifying routines.
