LG’s 2025 Gram Laptops Introduce Arrow Lake Chips, AI Enhancements, and More
LG has unveiled its latest Gram laptop lineup ahead of CES 2025, featuring Intel’s Arrow Lake platform and innovative AI capabilities. The lineup includes two Gram Pro models (17Z90TR and 16Z90TS), a Gram Pro 2-in-1, and a new addition—the Gram Book, an entry-level lightweight PC with a 1080p display. While pricing and availability remain undisclosed, the Gram Book is expected to offer a more affordable alternative to the premium Gram models.
The Gram Pro 17Z90TR will feature Nvidia RTX 4050 graphics paired with Intel’s Arrow Lake mobile processor, offering a blend of power and efficiency. Arrow Lake, optimized for lower power consumption, may find its niche in laptops, following mixed reception in desktops. Some models, however, will continue to use Intel’s older Lunar Lake chips, which excel in AI processing with robust TOPS specifications. AMD and Qualcomm chips are absent from this year’s lineup.
A significant highlight is LG Gram AI, available in two versions: On-Device and Cloud. The On-Device version utilizes a local small language model, derived from LG’s EXAONE LLM, enabling privacy-focused features like Time Travel, which lets users revisit previously viewed web pages, documents, and multimedia. The Cloud version, powered by GPT-4o, offers advanced AI capabilities, integrating with calendars and email services, though it requires a subscription after the first year.
The Gram Pro laptops feature 2560×1600 displays, with an optional 1800p OLED on the Pro 2-in-1. Configurations include up to 32GB of memory and 2TB of storage, with upgraded Gram Link support for seamless content sharing between Android devices and laptops.
While the Gram Book offers a budget-friendly option, its 3.74-pound weight and 51Wh battery may feel less competitive. Premium Gram models maintain the brand’s focus on high-quality displays and lightweight design, albeit slightly heavier than before.
