Google Chrome Testing Tab-Splitting Feature for Enhanced Multitasking

Google Chrome is experimenting with a new tab-splitting feature that allows users to view two separate web pages side by side within the same browser window. First spotted by browser reviewer Leopeva64 via Windows Latest, the feature is currently hidden in the latest version of Chrome and not yet available for use.

Once enabled, users will reportedly be able to split a tab by right-clicking on it and selecting the option to “Split Tab with Active Tab.” This functionality mirrors a similar feature in Microsoft Edge, called “Split Screen,” which allows users to view two tabs in one window through the settings menu or by selecting “Open in Sidebar” via the right-click context menu.

While this addition could make multitasking in Chrome even more efficient, Google has yet to announce when or if the feature will roll out in the stable version of the browser.
