First Public Beta of iOS 18.3: What’s New and What to Expect

Apple has released the first public beta of iOS 18.3, giving developers and testers a preview of what’s to come in the next iOS update. The beta was launched just after the iOS 18.2 update, which brought enhanced Apple Intelligence features, such as Genmoji, to select iPhones. While the current beta focuses more on internal refinements, there are still some changes worth noting.

If you decide to try out this iOS 18.3 public beta, it’s important to remember that this is still an early version of the software, meaning it may contain bugs or affect battery life. To avoid any issues, it’s recommended to install the beta on a secondary device rather than your primary iPhone.

Though the public beta is light on major new features, you can spot some minor aesthetic changes, such as a new dark mode icon for the Camera Control option in Settings. Most of the improvements in this update are likely behind the scenes, working on the stability and performance of the system.

It’s also worth noting that Apple Intelligence features, like Genmoji, are currently only available to users with an iPhone 15 Pro, Pro Max, or iPhone 16 lineup. Other iPhone models won’t have access to these features just yet. As this is only the first beta of iOS 18.3, more betas are expected to roll out in the coming weeks, potentially adding new features or tweaks before the public release. The exact release date for iOS 18.3 remains unclear.
