Lenovo Legion Gaming Laptops Unveiled at CES 2025: Power, Performance, and OLED Displays
Lenovo has pulled back the curtain on its 2025 Legion gaming laptops at CES, offering gamers a glimpse at some impressive hardware and enhanced cooling systems. With Nvidia 50-series graphics cards and the latest AMD and Intel processors, these new models promise to deliver top-tier performance for gamers. Notably, they also feature stunning OLED displays, which will elevate gaming visuals even further.
Among the highlights are the Legion Pro 5i and Pro 7i, two laptops that continue Lenovo’s legacy of powerful, high-refresh-rate gaming devices. The Pro 5i and Pro 7i are equipped with Intel Core Ultra 9 275HX processors and 16-inch OLED panels with a 1600p resolution, offering vibrant and fluid visuals. The key differences lie in the RAM, storage, and graphics options, with the Pro 5i offering up to 32GB of DDR5 RAM and GeForce RTX 5070 Ti graphics, while the Pro 7i ramps up to 64GB of RAM and GeForce RTX 5090 graphics. These configurations give gamers and creators plenty of power to run the latest games and demanding applications.
Cooling is also a major focus for Lenovo with both models sporting advanced systems to keep the hardware performing at its best. The Pro 7i features the Legion Coldfront Vapor system with hyperchamber technology, capable of dissipating 250 watts of thermal power, while the Pro 5i uses the Coldfront Hyper system to handle 200 watts. Both laptops are built to withstand intense gaming sessions, making sure your device stays cool even under pressure.
The Pro 7i will launch in March 2025 with a starting price of $2,399, while the Pro 5i is expected to ship in May 2025, starting at $1,499. For those who prefer AMD processors, the Legion Pro 5 offers a great alternative, boasting an AMD Ryzen 9 9955HX processor and Nvidia GeForce RTX 5070 GPU. The Pro 5 is also 13% thinner and lighter than its predecessor, although it still weighs 5.58 pounds. With Coldfront Hyper cooling, 24-zone RGB lighting, and a 80Wh battery, the Legion Pro 5 strikes a balance between performance and style. It will be available starting June 2025, with a starting price of $1,399.
