MyVelo TV Premiere: Merging Streaming and Over-the-Air TV in One Box

The MyVelo TV Premiere streaming box promises to deliver a seamless blend of streaming and over-the-air TV at an accessible price point. Priced at $100 and slated for a spring release on Amazon, this Android TV-based device comes with a USB dongle that includes a single ATSC 3.0 tuner, allowing users to watch 4K broadcasts, Dolby Vision HDR, and Dolby Atmos audio content directly from their antenna via the MyVelo TV app. This eliminates the need to switch inputs or remotes, bringing over-the-air content closer to mainstream streaming.

While most major streaming device makers have shifted their focus to monetizable free streaming content, smaller brands like MyVelo TV are stepping in to serve a growing audience of cord-cutters. Mark Jensen, CEO and co-founder of Shift2Stream, confirmed that support for encrypted ATSC 3.0 channels will also be included, although it was still in progress at the CES 2025 demo.

Beyond streaming, the box includes USB-A ports for connecting the tuner dongle and other accessories, while an optional DVR service will allow users to record local channels for under $5/month, offering 14 days of guide data.
