Wyze Joins the AI Revolution with Descriptive Alerts for Security Cameras
Wyze is jumping into the AI-powered video description game, joining Amazon’s Ring and Google’s Nest cameras in offering more intelligent security features. The company has rolled out a new “Cam Unlimited Pro” plan, priced at $19.99 per month or $199.99 annually, that introduces AI-generated video alerts for its security cameras.
This feature adds a layer of detail to video event notifications, offering descriptions like “Three babies are helping each other climb out of their cribs” or “A suspicious person is seen walking up to the porch and picking up a package.” Instead of generic labels like “Driveway” or “Bedroom,” Wyze users get important, contextual information with every alert.
In addition to descriptive alerts, the Cam Unlimited Pro plan offers AI search, which allows users to find specific video clips by using natural language queries. So, if you’re looking for a particular event, simply ask, and the system will search your history. The plan also includes advanced features like smart object detection, facial recognition, suspicious sound alerts, and cloud storage.
The new plan is compatible with most Wyze cameras (excluding Wyze Cam v1, Wyze Video Doorbell v1, and Wyze Cam Outdoor v1), and it covers all of your Wyze cameras under a single subscription. However, it’s important to note that if you subscribe to Wyze Home Monitoring and Cam Unlimited Pro, the latter will replace your home monitoring plan and remove your professional monitoring and sensor integration.
