Google Expands Imagen 3 – AI Image Generation for People Now in Google Workspace

In November, Google integrated Imagen 3 into Google Workspace, allowing users to generate AI-created images directly within Google Docs. Now, Google has taken things a step further by updating Imagen 3 to support AI-generated images of people, expanding its capabilities across multiple Google services.

With this update, users can now generate AI images of people using Imagen 3 in various Google Workspace tools, including the Gemini app, Gemini Advanced, and sidebars in Google Docs, Sheets, Drive, and Slides. Additionally, the AI-generated images can be used within Gmail, the “Help me create” tool in Google Docs and Vids, and the “Help me visualize” feature in Google Slides. This expansion marks a significant step in Google’s AI development, enabling more personalized and context-aware image generation directly within its productivity suite.

While the feature is already live across most platforms, Google has stated that it may take until March 1st for the update to reach all Gemini app users. However, those using Google Workspace tools such as Docs, Slides, and Gmail can already take advantage of the new capabilities.

Beyond image generation, Google has also introduced a small but useful update for Gmail users on Android and iOS. The Gemini AI suggestions feature has been improved, adding a new button that allows users to instantly paste AI-generated email suggestions into their drafts, streamlining the email writing process. These updates reflect Google’s continued efforts to enhance AI-powered productivity across its ecosystem.
