If you’re in the market for a new graphics card, now might not be the best time. With Nvidia’s RTX 5090 and the much less impressive RTX 5080 both selling out within hours of their launch, finding a high-performance GPU has become a challenge. But if you’re looking for a more budget-friendly option, there’s good news — Nvidia’s RTX 5060 could be just around the corner.
According to a KitGuru report, Chaintech, a China-based component supplier, has leaked a financial presentation that indicates RTX 5060 and RTX 5060 Ti cards could arrive as soon as March 2025. While Nvidia has yet to confirm the existence of these GPUs, the possibility seems high given the long-standing trend of launching mid-tier models, such as the GTX 1060 and RTX 3060, in Nvidia’s lineup.
Chaintech works with Colorful, a key Nvidia partner in China, so it’s unlikely they’re fabricating this information. However, it’s worth noting that the leak only indicates when parts are expected to be available for card manufacturers, not when the final consumer cards will hit store shelves. March seems like a reasonable possibility, especially in China, but it might take until April or May for the cards to make it to other regions.
While we don’t know exactly how much these cards will cost, it’s safe to say they’ll be priced lower than the RTX 5070, which starts at $550. That said, there’s a possibility the RTX 5060 may not wow users with cutting-edge hardware. Given the RTX 5070 laptop version features only 8GB of video RAM, and both the RTX 4060 and 4060 Ti also offered 8GB in their base models, it’s likely the RTX 5060 will have similar specs, at least in its base configuration.
