Affordable OLED Monitors on the Horizon: Alienware’s Latest Releases
OLED monitors have long been considered a premium choice for gamers and content creators, but prices are finally coming down, making them more accessible than ever. Alienware continues to set the bar with their newest releases, offering cutting-edge OLED technology at an impressive price point.
The standout product is Alienware’s 27-inch AW2725D OLED monitor, which debuts this summer at just $549.99—a remarkable price for an OLED display. This monitor packs a punch with a 280Hz refresh rate and a 0.03ms response time, making it perfect for fast-paced gaming. In addition to these top-tier gaming features, it also supports G-Sync and FreeSync for smoother gameplay. The monitor’s 1440p resolution is widely considered the sweet spot for gamers, offering great detail without demanding the performance costs of higher resolutions. While the full design details will be released closer to the Summer 2025 launch, it’s clear that Alienware has a strong contender in the OLED space.
But that’s not all from Alienware. The company is also releasing updates to their popular ultrawide and 4K OLED models. The AW3425DW, a 34-inch ultrawide OLED, is getting an upgrade to 240Hz with a slight bump in refresh rate while maintaining its 3440×1440 resolution. It will also feature a USB-C port, although limited to 15W charging, making it less suitable for gaming laptops that rely on higher power delivery. This model will launch on April 29, 2025, with a price tag of $799.99.
For those who prefer a smaller screen with a 4K resolution, Alienware is introducing the 27-inch AW2725Q OLED monitor, a more compact version of the 32-inch OLED released last year. It boasts 240Hz refresh rate and 0.03ms response time with 3840×2160 resolution and e-ARC compatibility on its HDMI 2.1 ports. Priced at $899.99, this monitor will appeal to those seeking premium performance in a smaller package. However, like its larger sibling, the USB-C port is limited to just 15W charging.
For gamers on a tighter budget, Alienware is launching a new 27-inch IPS-LCD monitor that offers color accuracy at 1440p resolution. It’s capable of 180Hz, which should be sufficient for most gamers who don’t require ultra-fast refresh rates. This monitor will be available for $270 on March 6, 2025 from Dell’s online store.
