AMD’s Ryzen 9 9950X3D and 9900X3D Arrive March 12—Here’s What to Expect
AMD’s X3D processors have long been a go-to choice for gamers, delivering exceptional performance thanks to 3D V-Cache technology. The Ryzen 7 9800X3D, which debuted last year, remains a hot seller, and now, AMD is gearing up to launch its high-end Ryzen 9 9950X3D and 9900X3D—with a confirmed March 12 release date.
While these figures are set, pricing in other regions remains a bit uncertain. Reports from JD.com, a major retailer in China, suggest prices around 5,599 yuan (~$772 USD) for the 9950X3D and 4,599 yuan (~$634 USD) for the 9900X3D. However, regional pricing fluctuations, including value-added tax (VAT), often mean international prices won’t perfectly match direct currency conversions.
Looking at past trends, the Ryzen 7 9800X3D is priced at around 4,000 yuan (~$552 USD) in China, compared to $479 in the U.S.—a difference in line with China’s 15% VAT rate. If we apply similar calculations, the 9950X3D could land around $650-$660 in the U.S., while the 9900X3D might settle at approximately $540. These figures are in line with what we saw for AMD’s previous-gen X3D chips, making them a solid value for gamers looking for next-level performance.
With the launch just around the corner, we won’t have to wait much longer to see if AMD’s Zen 5 X3D lineup lives up to its predecessors. March 12 is shaping up to be a big day for PC gamers!
