Microsoft Previews New Redesign for Windows 11 Start Menu

Windows 11 has gone through numerous changes over the past few years, with new features like the “categories” view and the “companions” feature. Yet, despite all the adjustments, Microsoft always seems to find another detail that could use refinement. The latest tweak is a major redesign of the Start menu, slated for an upcoming update.

The redesigned Start menu aims to provide a more comprehensive view by allowing users to see and scroll through everything at once. The layout will be both longer and wider, allowing for a more expansive view of your apps and options.

One key improvement many users have been eagerly waiting for is the ability to turn off the recommendations that clutter the Start menu. This change addresses a popular user request and is expected to offer a cleaner, more streamlined experience.

This new Start menu design has already been spotted by @phantomofearth on social media, who posted a short video showcasing the design. Currently, it’s only available for users on the Dev and Beta versions of Windows Insider, so it may take some time before it reaches a broader audience.
