June’s Windows 11 Updates Are Causing a Cascade of Issues
Microsoft’s Patch Tuesday update for June has turned into a frustrating experience for Windows 11 users, forcing Microsoft to pause the rollout and issue an emergency patch—only to introduce even more problems. Now, the situation has become even more complicated.
One newly surfaced bug affects the Print to PDF feature on systems running Windows 11 24H2. According to Microsoft, the issue mostly impacts enterprise users and is not considered critical. Specifically, users can no longer find the “Print to PDF” option in the Settings app under printers and scanners. It also cannot be re-enabled using PowerShell.
Microsoft is trying to address the bug with optional preview update KB5060829, which is intended to fix the PDF printing problem. Unfortunately, this update brings its own share of complications.
More Trouble with KB5060829
To recap:
- June 10: Patch Tuesday update KB5060842 causes problems.
- June 11: Emergency out-of-band patch KB5063060 adds more issues.
- Now: Preview update KB5060829 is causing performance hiccups and glitches.
Some users report system slowdowns, mouse lag in games (especially during key combinations), and strange behavior from Windows Firewall. One Reddit user mentioned seeing suspicious firewall-related events, with Microsoft confirming it’s due to a new, unfinished feature that logs extra system events on reboot. Microsoft says this is harmless and should resolve itself in time.
If you haven’t yet installed KB5060829, it’s probably best to wait for July’s official Patch Tuesday update. And if you’re already experiencing issues, you may be able to roll back the update to restore normal performance.
