Apple has unveiled a lineup of updated devices featuring its latest M5 chip, including a new MacBook Pro, iPad Pro, and the second-generation Vision Pro headset. The new processor, built on a 3-nanometer architecture, delivers faster performance and improved power efficiency, allowing Apple’s latest devices to handle advanced AI and machine learning workloads.
The M5-powered 14-inch MacBook Pro represents a major upgrade over the M4 generation, capable of running large language models directly on-device. Prices remain the same as the previous generation: $1,599 for the MacBook Pro, $999 for the iPad Pro, and $3,499 for the Vision Pro.
Apple said its latest hardware aims to enhance productivity for creative professionals and developers. The company’s premium-first rollout mirrors past strategies — debuting new chips in top-tier products before expanding to more affordable devices.
While the Vision Pro received mixed commercial results following its 2023 debut, the updated model is designed to deliver smoother performance and improved integration with Apple’s ecosystem. Analysts expect iPad sales to rise by 6% in fiscal 2025, driven by renewed global demand and more affordable models, while Mac sales continue to benefit from the company’s broader M-series lineup.
