AMD has officially reassured PC gamers that Windows 10 remains fully supported for driver updates, despite growing concerns following a recent release. In a statement to Windows Latest, the company clarified that it will continue providing Adrenalin Edition drivers and other software updates for Windows 10 systems, ensuring that users who have not yet upgraded to Windows 11 will still receive the same level of performance optimization and compatibility improvements. This confirmation brings relief to a large segment of the gaming community, many of whom continue to rely on Windows 10 as their primary operating system.

The confusion began after AMD rolled out Adrenalin Edition version 25.10.2 on October 29, 2025, a release that included performance enhancements for titles such as Battlefield 6 and Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2. However, the official release notes only mentioned Windows 11, with no reference to Windows 10 support — a first for AMD. Given that previous driver releases consistently listed Windows 10 as a supported OS, many assumed that AMD had decided to drop Windows 10 driver support altogether, particularly since Microsoft officially ended support for the OS on October 14, 2025.

Responding to the speculation, AMD clarified that the omission of Windows 10 was purely editorial, not technical. The company explained that while Microsoft has discontinued mainstream support, AMD’s driver packages remain compatible and will continue to function seamlessly under Windows 10 environments. “The AMD Software Adrenalin package, although it does not specifically call out Windows 10 support, supports Windows 10,” an AMD representative told Windows Latest. The company further added that Windows 10 users can continue installing and updating drivers using the Windows 11 installer, which will maintain full functionality across both operating systems.

This reassurance from AMD comes at a critical time as the PC gaming landscape continues to evolve. While Microsoft is pushing forward with Windows 11 adoption and preparing for future Windows releases, a large portion of gamers still rely on Windows 10 due to its stability, familiarity, and extensive compatibility with older software and hardware. AMD’s decision to extend its driver support reinforces its commitment to ensuring smooth gaming performance and hardware optimization for all users, regardless of which Windows version they prefer to use.
