Apple is preparing to integrate Google’s 1.2 trillion-parameter Gemini AI model into its Siri voice assistant, according to Bloomberg News. The agreement, valued at around $1 billion per year, will give Apple access to Google’s cutting-edge technology as it works to develop its own AI infrastructure.

The Gemini model’s vast scale — dwarfing Apple’s current systems — will help Siri deliver more natural conversations, advanced reasoning, and broader contextual understanding. Bloomberg said Apple views the partnership as a stopgap until its internal AI models are ready for deployment.

The move highlights Apple’s growing urgency to strengthen its AI capabilities amid intensifying competition from Microsoft, OpenAI, and other industry leaders. While the company has invested heavily in proprietary AI tools, Google’s model is expected to accelerate Siri’s transformation into a more capable assistant.

Apple and Alphabet have not yet commented on the reported deal, which continues a long history of collaboration between the two tech giants. Their existing search partnership, which makes Google the default search engine on Apple devices, already generates billions in annual payments.
