Samsung and Google are facing fresh competition in the foldable market. At CES 2026, Motorola introduced its first side-folding smartphone, the Razr Fold, marking a notable expansion of the company’s foldable ambitions. The device features a large 6.6-inch external display alongside an expansive 8.1-inch flexible inner screen. Motorola has not yet shared physical dimensions, so details like thickness and how it stacks up against rival foldables remain unclear.
One standout feature is support for the Moto Pen Ultra stylus, a notable addition at a time when Samsung has removed stylus support from its latest Galaxy Z Fold models. Given that book-style foldables often double as tablet replacements, stylus compatibility adds practical value for note-taking, drawing, and productivity tasks.
The Razr Fold also appears to take imaging seriously, offering a multi-camera setup built around a 50MP Sony main sensor, paired with a 50MP ultra-wide/macro lens and a 50MP telephoto. On top of that, there’s a 32MP selfie camera on the outer display and a 20MP camera inside. Video recording supports Dolby Vision, positioning the device as a capable option for both photography and video capture.
Motorola says the Razr Fold will launch in blue and white color options, but details around internal specifications, pricing, and release timing remain under wraps. The company has stated that additional information will be revealed in the coming months. While this is Motorola’s first side-folding phone, the brand has long experience with foldables through its flip-style Razr lineup, suggesting the Razr Fold is a natural next step in its ongoing evolution.
