Users of the classic version of Microsoft Outlook have been reporting a frustrating issue over the past couple of months: the mouse pointer suddenly disappears, making it difficult to navigate emails or complete everyday tasks. Now, according to reports highlighted by BleepingComputer, Microsoft has confirmed the problem.
A newly published support page acknowledges that the bug can cause the mouse cursor to vanish not only in classic Outlook but also, in some cases, across other Microsoft 365 apps—though Outlook appears to be the most affected.
Microsoft hasn’t yet identified the exact cause of the issue, but the company says it’s actively working on a fix. For now, affected users may need to rely on temporary workarounds, such as restarting the app or system, until an official update resolves the problem.
The cursor glitch is the latest in a string of odd bugs to hit classic Outlook over the past year. In several previous cases, Microsoft has encouraged users to move to the newer Outlook experience as the company continues shifting focus toward its modernized email client.
There’s no confirmed timeline for when a permanent fix will arrive, but Microsoft says the issue should be addressed in a future update. Until then, users dealing with disappearing cursors will have to wait—or consider switching to the new Outlook version if the bug becomes too disruptive.
