Apple has appointed Lilian Rincon as vice president of product marketing for artificial intelligence, strengthening its leadership as it accelerates AI development.

Rincon previously spent nearly a decade at Google, where she worked on key products including shopping and virtual assistant services. In her new role, she will report to Apple’s marketing chief Greg Joswiak and help shape the company’s AI strategy and positioning.

The hire comes as Apple prepares to launch an upgraded version of its voice assistant Siri, which is expected to incorporate more advanced AI capabilities. The new system is being rebuilt with technology linked to Alphabet Inc.’s Gemini AI model.

The move highlights Apple’s effort to close the gap in artificial intelligence, an area where competitors have moved quickly in recent years. By bringing in experienced leadership and enhancing Siri, the company aims to improve user experience and strengthen its position in the AI-driven technology landscape.
