Elon Musk’s X Platform Increases Premium Plus Pricing by 40%

X (formerly known as Twitter) has increased the price of its highest-tier subscription, Premium Plus, by 40%, effective December 21, 2024. While the Basic and Premium tiers remain unchanged at $3 and $8 per month, respectively, Premium Plus has jumped from $16 to $22 per month. The annual subscription has also seen a substantial increase, rising from $168 to $229.

Existing users will see the new pricing applied to their billing cycle starting January 20, 2025, while new subscribers are already paying the higher rates. X justifies the price hike by highlighting added features for Premium Plus members, including complete ad-free browsing, access to Radar (a real-time trends tracker), and higher limits on Grok AI service. Additionally, the company mentions that the increased revenue will help fund revenue sharing for content creators, with earnings linked to the value they bring to the platform.
