Microsoft Edge Game Assist: A Convenient In-Game Helper

For gamers who’ve ever been stuck in a game and needed a quick hint, the new Microsoft Edge Game Assist for Windows provides a seamless way to get help without leaving your gaming session. Debuting as a beta during the holidays, it is now a part of Microsoft Edge (version 132 or higher) as a preview feature.

Game Assist integrates with Windows’ Game Bar, an overlay triggered by pressing Win + G, allowing players to monitor PC performance, capture screenshots, and manage other settings. Edge Game Assist adds a small browser window on top, which automatically displays third-party guides and hints for popular games like Baldur’s Gate 3, Diablo IV, and Fortnite. The window can also play suggested videos, resizing as needed.

While the feature excels in slower-paced games, where you can take time to glance at hints or videos without disrupting gameplay, it may not be as effective in fast-paced games like Valorant, where quick reactions are key. Supported games are still limited, but Microsoft promises to expand the selection over time, with users able to browse guides for any game manually.

One of the biggest benefits of Game Assist is its ability to work with Steam-installed games without the need for Xbox Game Pass, making it a versatile tool for all kinds of players.
