The OnePlus 13 smartphone range is widely tipped to add a third member in the OnePlus 13 Mini, and it might not have quite so impressive a camera set-up as we initially thought.
Established tipster Digital Chat Station has taken to Chinese social network Weibo to revise their earlier assertion that the OnePlus 13 Mini (elsewhere referred to as the OnePlus 13T) will feature a full triple camera system.
The latest claim is that the OnePlus 13 Mini will use a dual camera, involving a 50Mp main sensor and a 50Mp 2x telephoto. The same leaker previously suggested that the main sensor would be a Sony IMX906, which we saw previously in the Xiaomi 14T.
Of course, they also previously claimed that the telephoto would be a 3x zoom, and that there’d also be an 8Mp ultra-wide, so we we’re taking it all with a pinch of salt.
When is a ‘Mini’ not a mini?
It’s worth addressing that ‘Mini’ name for a second. Just this week we opined, regarding the Asus Zenfone 12 Ultra, on the lack of truly small flagship phone options these days, and sadly, the OnePlus 13 Mini is unlikely to fill that void.

Previous rumours have suggested that it’ll be ‘Mini’ in relative terms only, with a 6.31-inch ‘1.5K’ LTPO display. Smaller than the 6.82-inch OnePlus 13 and the 6.78-inch OnePlus 13R, sure. But we’re not talking sub-6-inch Asus Zenfone 10 small here, nor even the 6.1-inch iPhone 16.
In fact, it’s the same size as the Google Pixel 9, which has never knowingly been associated with the term ‘mini’.
Even so, the OnePlus 13 Mini promises to pack a serious punch relative to its size, with a Snapdragon 8 Elite processor mooted. It could also feature a premium design with a metal frame and a glass back.
