While it’s hard to imagine most players noticing a major difference between a 360Hz and a 500Hz refresh rate, that hasn’t stopped display makers from pushing the limits. And for the most competitive PC gamers—those chasing every possible edge in reaction time and motion clarity—these ultra-fast displays are far more than marketing. Enter AOC’s new high-refresh heroes, the Agon Pro AG246FK6 and the Agon CS24G2, two 24-inch monitors capable of hitting a staggering 610Hz refresh rate, setting a new bar for desktop monitor performance.

The AG246FK6 keeps things simple in terms of resolution and size. Its 24-inch screen is limited to 1080p, a sweet spot for high frame rate gaming, and it uses a TN panel—a technology that’s fallen out of favor in premium displays due to its narrow viewing angles and less-than-stellar color accuracy. But in terms of speed, TN is still king, and that’s where this panel shines. It runs at a native 600Hz, with a mild overclock pushing it to 610Hz, and boasts a 0.5ms response time. That kind of speed, combined with motion blur reduction and adaptive sync support, ensures an ultra-smooth and consistent gaming experience, even in the fastest titles.

Other niceties include HDMI 2.1 ports, RGB lighting on the back, and even a slide-out headphone holder—a thoughtful touch for players with cluttered desks. While the monitor doesn’t scream “luxury” in build or visuals, it’s clearly built with one mission in mind: maximizing speed for hardcore competitive players.

The second variant, the Agon CS24G2, is almost identical on the surface but comes with a few key upgrades tailored specifically for Counter-Strike 2 fans. The CS branding isn’t just for show: this version is officially tied to the game and brings features designed to match its demanding player base. It includes a faster 0.3ms response time, official Nvidia G-Sync support, and a striking gold stand embossed with a Counter-Strike logo and an etched player silhouette.

Perhaps the most curious feature is its built-in “CS2 Mode”, a preset that’s supposed to optimize the monitor for Valve’s tactical shooter with enhanced sharpness, tuned gamma, minimized input lag, and extremely fluid motion. It’s hard not to wonder why these optimizations wouldn’t be beneficial in all fast-paced games—but branding matters, and for CS2 players, this might feel like an extra level of dedication to their favorite title.

Both models are launching soon, with a retail price of £599 (about $790 USD) each. The standard AG246FK6 is expected in August, while the CS-branded version will follow in September. Whether you’re a Counter-Strike diehard or just someone who wants to game faster than the human eye can track, AOC is offering something few others can match right now.
