ExpressVPN, one of the most recognizable names in the VPN market, is changing the way it sells its service by introducing three new subscription tiers. Instead of a single all-inclusive plan with a premium price tag, users now have a choice between Basic, Advanced, and Pro memberships depending on their needs and budget. The change officially rolled out on September 2, marking one of the biggest pricing and feature structure shifts the provider has made in years.
Under the new model, all subscribers still benefit from ExpressVPN’s 30-day money-back guarantee and can sign up for month-to-month, one-year, or two-year terms. The longer the plan, the deeper the discount. Perhaps the most noteworthy part of the overhaul is that ExpressVPN has also bumped up device support across the board—every plan now starts with 10 simultaneous device connections, which is higher than what many competitors offer. More expensive tiers unlock even higher connection limits and added extras.
The Basic tier offers the core VPN experience most users are familiar with: the fast Lightway protocol, access to over 3,000 servers worldwide, coverage across all 50 U.S. states, and the company’s strong post-quantum encryption. A two-year Basic subscription now costs $3.49 per month and includes four extra months free. For many users who just want a secure VPN connection, this is now far more affordable than the old single-price model.
Moving up, the Advanced tier expands the feature list with a built-in password manager, three days of unlimited international mobile data via eSIM, ID monitoring tools, and an identity restoration service. Subscribers also get 12 device connections and a 50 percent discount on the Aircove router, ExpressVPN’s own VPN-ready router. The plan runs $4.49 per month on a two-year deal with the same four free months.
At the top, the Pro tier is designed for those who want maximum protection and flexibility. It includes everything from the other tiers plus personal data removal, monthly credit reports, five days of unlimited eSIM data, and—most notably—a dedicated IP address. That feature is usually sold separately by VPN providers, so having it bundled is a cost-saver. Pro subscribers also get up to 14 device connections and a 75 percent discount on the Aircove router. Pricing comes in at $7.49 per month for a two-year term with four bonus months.
ExpressVPN says the redesign is meant to “meet users where they are” by offering scalable protection instead of forcing everyone into the same premium option. Current customers won’t see any changes unless they decide to switch to one of the new plans, but the move could make the VPN service more attractive to those who have been deterred by its higher cost in the past.
