Vietnam has approved SpaceX’s Starlink satellite internet service to operate within the country, marking a significant step toward expanding nationwide connectivity.

The Ministry of Science and Technology granted Starlink’s local unit a license to provide both fixed and mobile satellite internet services. The company also received authorization to use radio frequencies and related equipment.

The move follows Vietnam’s earlier decision to allow the service to operate on a trial basis and reflects growing efforts to improve digital infrastructure, particularly in remote areas where traditional broadband access remains limited.

While an official launch date has not been announced, the approval signals Vietnam’s openness to satellite-based internet solutions as it seeks to enhance connectivity and support economic development.

The development also comes amid ongoing trade discussions between Vietnam and the United States, highlighting strengthening technological cooperation between the two countries.
