Celebrating Four Years of Cyberpunk 2077

It’s hard to believe that it’s been four years since the release of Cyberpunk 2077, a game that faced numerous challenges during its development but has since become a more polished experience. Yesterday, CD Projekt RED celebrated this milestone by releasing Update 2.2, which brings several exciting new features to the game, including new vehicles, an enhanced photo mode, additional character customizations for V, and improvements to certain quests, including bug fixes.

While the changes in Update 2.2 may not be groundbreaking, they highlight the developer’s commitment to continuing to support the game years after its initial release. This dedication has allowed Cyberpunk 2077 to evolve into a much more refined and optimized game, a far cry from the troubled launch that initially plagued its reputation. The ongoing improvements and additions demonstrate CD Projekt RED’s persistence in making Cyberpunk 2077 a well-rounded and immersive experience.

For fans who haven’t yet played Cyberpunk 2077, the Ultimate Edition was released on December 5, 2023, and includes the main game as well as the hit expansion Phantom Liberty. This special edition is available for PC, Xbox Series X, and PlayStation 5.

Looking ahead, CD Projekt RED is working on a new title in The Witcher series. The Witcher 4, which will likely shift away from Geralt as the central character, may focus on his adopted daughter, Ciri, or introduce a brand-new protagonist. Though the release date for The Witcher 4 is currently unknown, it is speculated to arrive in 2026 at the earliest. Additionally, a remake of the first Witcher game is in development and might release sooner.
