The OnePlus V Flip has been the subject of much speculation since we first heard about it in early 2023.
While the release of the OnePlus Open 2 has been rumoured for some time now, the brand might also be preparing to launch a clamshell model.
Here’s everything we know so far about the phone’s release date, pricing, and potential specifications.
When will the OnePlus V Flip be released?
Recent rumour suggests that the OnePlus V Flip is slated for a Q2 2025 launch (between April and June). This timeframe was shared by a prominent Chinese leaker, Digital Chat Station.
If true, this would make the V Flip the second foldable device in OnePlus’ portfolio, following the OnePlus Open.

Earlier speculation pointed to the V Flip being a rebranded version of the Oppo Find N5 Flip. However, Yogesh Brar said earlier this year that the Find N5 Flip project was cancelled.
These developments raise questions about whether the V Flip will borrow any design cues or technology from Oppo’s shelved plans. As always with leaks, it’s wise to approach these reports with some scepticism.
How much will the OnePlus V Flip cost?
While there’s no confirmed pricing for the OnePlus V Flip, its main competition in the foldable market provides some clues.
The best clamshell foldables like the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 6 and Motorola Razr 50 Ultra typically start around £999/$999.
Given OnePlus’ track record of offering premium features at competitive prices, the V Flip might enter the market with a slightly lower price tag to gain traction.
Therefore, launch price around £899–£999 seems plausible.
What specs and features will the OnePlus V Flip have?
While official details are still under wraps, we can speculate on some of the features and specifications based on trends in the foldable market and OnePlus’ history of hardware innovation.
Design
The OnePlus V Flip might embrace a compact, sleek design, typical of clamshell foldables. Like its competitors, it may feature a durable hinge mechanism and a glass-metal construction.

If the device takes cues from the Oppo Find N series, we can anticipate a seamless folding display and a relatively large cover screen for notifications and quick tasks.
Display
The main folding screen will likely use AMOLED technology for vibrant colours and deep blacks, paired with a 120Hz refresh rate for smooth scrolling and animations.

The outer cover display might offer additional functionality, such as widgets, notifications, and basic app interactions.
Performance
OnePlus devices are known for their strong performance, and the V Flip is expected to follow suit with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 or even 8 Elite chipset.
This would ensure top-tier processing power for multitasking, gaming, and running foldable-specific software features.

RAM configurations are likely to range between 8GB and 12GB, with storage options starting at 256GB.
Cameras
The OnePlus V Flip could feature a dual-camera setup on the rear, optimised for both regular photography and the unique angles possible with a foldable device.

A 32Mp or 50Mp main sensor paired with an ultrawide lens is a likely combination. The inner display might house a punch-hole selfie camera, possibly in the 16Mp range.
Battery & Charging
The V Flip might pack a 3,700–4,000mAh battery, which is on par with current clamshell competitors.

Fast charging, a signature of OnePlus devices, is expected. We’d anticipate speeds of 67W or higher, and there’s a possibility of wireless charging support.
Software
The V Flip will run OxygenOS, likely based on Android 15, depending on its release timing.
Until the launch, OnePlus could further optimise the software for foldable functionality, offering features like split-screen multitasking and app continuity between the inner and cover displays.
