The Samsung Galaxy Z Flip series has been a trailblazer in foldable phone market. So, it’s no surprise that each successive version of this phone has appeared on our list of the best flip phones.
With each release – in particular the latest Galaxy Z Flip 6 – Samsung continues to innovate across design, performance, and features.
As anticipation builds for the Galaxy Z Flip 7, here’s everything we know so far about its potential release date, pricing, and specifications.
When will the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 7 be released?
Following Samsung’s yearly release schedule, the Galaxy Z Flip 7 is expected to launch in mid-2025, most likely in July or August, mirroring previous Galaxy Z Flip unveilings.

SamMobile reports that Samsung has already secured trademarks for the Z Flip 7 name, suggesting that the phone is firmly on their roadmap.
This release will likely be a part of Samsung’s major annual Summer (in the northern hemisphere, at least) Unpacked event, where they typically reveal the latest models in their flagship lines, including the Z Flip and Z Fold series.
How much will the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 7 cost?
While exact pricing for the Galaxy Z Flip 7 is speculative at this stage, we can estimate based on the current pricing of the Galaxy Z Flip 6 and anticipated upgrades in storage and features.
The Galaxy Z Flip 7 is expected to come in multiple storage configurations, with prices potentially starting at a minimum of £1,049/$1,099.99.

There are also rumours of a more affordable model, the Galaxy Z Flip FE (Fan Edition), which could feature slightly weaker performance, in the pursuit of a more budget-friendly price point.
What specs and features will the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 7 have?
Design
Samsung is reportedly working on making the Z Flip 7 significantly thinner than its predecessors. A recent report from KED Global suggests that the head of Samsung’s mobile division has tasked engineers with creating a foldable phone as slim as the Galaxy S series, aiming for a thickness close to 8.4mm.
For context, the Galaxy Z Fold 6 measures 12.1mm, so this would be a substantial design shift.

The foldable clamshell design is likely to remain a hallmark of the Galaxy Z Flip series, but rumours indicate potential durability improvements in the hinge mechanism, making the phone more robust.
Display
According to SamMobile, the Galaxy Z Flip 7 could introduce PHOLED (Phosphorescent OLED) technology, for reduced power consumption, thanks to better luminous efficiency compared to the AMOLED displays currently used.

However, challenges in developing blue PHOLED materials may delay their full integration into Samsung’s foldable lineup as soon as next year.
Expect a similar 6.7-inch foldable display, with a smaller, pottentially 3.4-inch outer screen for notifications and quick interactions.
Performance
The Galaxy Z Flip 7 will likely be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset, offering faster performance, improved AI capabilities, and better energy efficiency, compared to the 8 Gen 3 inside the Flip 6.
According to an industry insider Jukanlosreve, the upcoming Galaxy Z Flip 7 will feature the unreleased Exynos 2500 processor. This could mark a shift in Samsung’s strategy, as the Galaxy Z Flip 6 was powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, while its successor might move to Samsung’s in-house chipset.
This decision, if true, appears to align with reports that the Galaxy S25 series will rely on the Snapdragon 8 Elite, suggesting Samsung might reserve its top-tier Exynos chipset for foldable devices.

Whichever chipset you find in the Galaxy Z Flip 7, it’s likely to be paired with 12GB of RAM and 256GB, 512GB or 1TB of storage.
Cameras
One of the most exciting rumours surrounding the Galaxy Z Flip 7 is the potential addition of a third rear camera; possibly a telephoto lens (via SamMobile and GalaxyClub).
This would be a significant upgrade, as the Z Flip series up until now has only ever included wide and ultrawide cameras on its back.
Dominik Tomaszewski / Foundry
A telephoto lens would allow for higher-fidelity zoom without losing image clarity, catering to users who want professional-level portrait and zoom capabilities.
The primary camera has already seen a bump from the 12Mp to a 50Mp sensor with the launch of the Z Flip 6, improving overall image quality and low-light performance. As such, we’re only expecting incremental improvement on that front.
Battery & Charging
Samsung’s foldable phones have been gradually improving in terms of battery capacity, and the Galaxy Z Flip 7 will likely feature the same 4000mAh battery as the Z Flip 6, coupled with 25W fast charging.
Dominik Tomaszewski / Foundry
With the potential integration of that aforementioned PHOLED technology, overall power consumption could decrease, allowing the battery to last longer on a single charge, despite the phone’s compact form factor.
Software
By the time the Z Flip 7 launches, it will likely run on Android 15, dressed with Samsung’s One UI 7.
Leaks suggest that One UI 7 will be a massive overhaul compared to previous versions. Expect a redesigned user interface with new icons, animations, and improved multitasking capabilities, tailored to foldable devices.
