Snapdragon X-powered Lenovo IdeaPad drops to $449.99 in rare one-day sale
When Microsoft first unveiled plans to bring Arm-based processors to Windows laptops, many consumers were optimistic that this shift would usher in a wave of more affordable and energy-efficient devices. While the initial wave of Snapdragon-equipped models leaned heavily into premium pricing, the landscape is finally beginning to shift—and today’s one-day deal at Best Buy is one of the strongest examples yet. The Lenovo IdeaPad Slim 3x, originally priced at $749.99, is now available for just $449.99—a substantial $300 discount that marks a major step toward budget-friendly Arm laptops.
The Slim 3x is a 15.6-inch notebook powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon X processor, part of the new wave of Arm chips designed to compete more directly with Intel and AMD offerings in the mainstream Windows market. In addition to promising excellent battery life and whisper-quiet operation, this laptop supports Microsoft’s Copilot+ features, which tap into onboard AI acceleration for tasks like real-time translation, smart search, and image enhancement. That makes it one of the few sub-$500 laptops capable of running these features natively.
Despite its low price, the Slim 3x includes 16GB of RAM—a critical spec for ensuring smooth performance with Windows 11 and multitasking. The 256GB SSD is more modest but still enough for web use, schoolwork, and basic productivity apps. The display, a 1920×1200 panel, offers a bit more vertical real estate than a standard Full HD screen, and the inclusion of a full-sized keyboard with number pad improves usability for spreadsheet users and students alike.
This isn’t a gaming laptop, and Snapdragon machines still fall short when it comes to running high-performance 3D titles or emulated x86 software. But for day-to-day computing, video streaming, and document work, it should excel—especially with its extended battery life and fanless design. The inclusion of a full SD card reader, along with two USB-A ports, a USB-C port, and HDMI output, also makes it more versatile than many similarly priced laptops.
