Finding a Windows laptop with 16GB of RAM around the $500 mark is usually the baseline for what I’d call a solid deal. But this offer from Newegg’s official eBay store blows right past that standard — you can grab an HP EliteBook 845 G8 with a full 32GB of RAM for just $260.99. The catch is that it’s refurbished, but for the amount of memory you’re getting at this price, it’s hard to complain.

That said, the EliteBook 845 G8 isn’t exactly cutting edge. The 6-core Ryzen Pro 5650U processor is built on AMD’s older Zen 3 architecture from 2021 and relies on DDR4 memory rather than the newer DDR5 standard. Storage is also tight, with just 256GB of SSD space — a pretty limiting amount in 2025. Still, the real appeal here is that massive pool of RAM, which makes this machine ideal for running dozens of browser tabs, virtual machines, or heavy multitasking without stuttering.

If the storage feels restrictive, the good news is that this machine is easy to upgrade. All you need is a screwdriver to swap in a larger SSD, something that’s far less convenient on most modern 14-inch laptops. The rest of the package is solid for the price: a 1080p display (non-touch), two USB-C ports, two USB-A ports, and a full-size HDMI output for external monitors. Battery life probably won’t impress with just a three-cell pack, but that’s a reasonable trade-off given the cost.

One thing to note is the warranty. You do get a year of coverage, though it’s backed by Allstate rather than HP or Newegg directly. Even so, at just over $260 for a business-class machine with 32GB of RAM, this is an unusually strong value in the refurb space — and it’s likely to sell out fast.
