Lenovo used the stage at this year’s IFA tradeshow in Berlin to give its premium ThinkPad X9 Aura Edition a stylish refresh, unveiling a striking new Glacier White finish. First teased back at CES 2025, the new colorway marks a clear departure from the traditional matte-black ThinkPad aesthetic, offering a cleaner and more modern look without losing the professional identity that defines the X9 family. For long-time ThinkPad fans, it’s a refreshing twist on a classic design, one that blends business polish with contemporary flair.

Buyers will be able to choose between 14-inch and 15-inch versions, both equipped with 1200p OLED displays, 32GB of RAM, and 1TB of SSD storage. Under the hood, the new models feature Intel’s Core Ultra Series 2 processors, coupled with more than 40 TOPS of AI acceleration, allowing the X9 Aura Edition to handle modern productivity and AI-assisted workloads with ease. Despite the visual update, Lenovo has kept all of the professional-grade features that make the ThinkPad X9 line appealing to enterprise users, including a robust keyboard, durable construction, and advanced security options.

Speaking of usability, Lenovo is also preparing to roll out Smart Share, a new feature within Lenovo Smart Connect. Arriving later this year, Smart Share will allow users to transfer photos and videos across devices with just a tap, eliminating the clunky process of emailing files to themselves or relying on third-party apps. It’s part of Lenovo’s broader effort to make its devices feel more seamless across personal and professional ecosystems.

On the security front, the ThinkPad X9 Aura Edition is protected by ThinkShield, Lenovo’s enterprise-grade suite designed to safeguard both local files and cloud-based data. By combining stylish new hardware with strong security measures and smart usability improvements, Lenovo is positioning the X9 Aura Edition as a workstation that is not just powerful, but also intuitive and trustworthy. Availability begins in October 2025, with the 14-inch model starting at $1,889 and the 15-inch variant priced from $2,109.
