Dubai-based AI fintech Optasia is preparing a 6.3 billion rand ($375 million) capital raise through a listing on the Johannesburg Stock Exchange, combining a 1.3 billion rand IPO with a 5 billion rand private placement from existing shareholders.

The company, backed by Ethos Capital, delivers AI-based financial services across 38 countries, providing micro-financing and mobile airtime credit to users without traditional bank access. CEO Salvador Anglada said the listing will boost Optasia’s global visibility and fuel its expansion in emerging markets.

Founded in 2012, Optasia has 121 million monthly active users and handles over 32 million loan transactions daily. Its telecom partners include MTN, Vodacom, and Airtel.
